Arcane Fight Scene Redesign

I’ve gotten a lot of feedback on this clip and I can’t tell you how helpful its been to have so many people supporting me in this endeavor of becoming a sound designer. So, I’d love to recipericate the helpfulness and show how i’ve accomplished the movement in this sword. It’s not too complicated or hard, it just took some fiddling around to create the movement it needed. Most of the work was done when creating the layers though. I won’t be going over that this time around because I mostly because I’ve covered the same techniques in the Bel’Veth redesign I did right before this. Just with more of an electric synth and different distortion, but same basic ideas.

So, I’m going to show you how I got from this (carefull, It might be a little loud):

To this:

Automating the volume of the synth layers, which might be obvious. secondly, I used KiloHearts Pitch shifter in a quite extreme manor, going up and down at least 6 semitones. Lastly, I made automation with a low pass filter but it wasn’t quite the feeling I was looking for. It was a little too noticeable, so I also automated the wet/dry of it. That’s about it! I think most of the success of the sword came from a synth layer with already a lot of movement and these effects just added onto that.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, I hope you have a wonderful day!
