Ashkan R Redesign

For this Redesign I really tried to focus on the Whooshy-ness, and shiny metal aspect to his abilities. So I manipulated and mangled metal ringing sounds for the shots fired, and the bullets being “locked in”. the main effect that I used was stretching the audio smaller, then adding a grain delay with a short decay then a spring reverb afterwards to give it a nice shimmer effect. There is also nice fun stuff before, between or after those, but those are probably the most common effects that I used.

The second most popular plugin I used is probably a frequency shifter. It added some very nice higher frequencies, that otherwise would not have been there. Then i’d throw Soothe2 on there to make sure those added frequencies dont have some hard resonances. Finally, it wouldn’t be overdone if I didn’t constantly add a second long reverb.

The Turning, whirling sound was very fun to make, I synthesized the sound in Serum with two different filters and a modulated eq. layered with a helicopter engine sound at the end. Very simply made, but took a lot of trial and error!

Thank you very much for reading my very brief explanation of my process doing this redesign.

Sincerely,

-Soundwich
