Description
The Toucan — A Bird of a Mic
Meet The Toucan: a sleek, black, ultrasonic-hunting, audio-sniffing omnidirectional microphone with a beak for detail. Sure, it doesn’t literally squawk, but it does sing with clarity.
Handmade with care, each Toucan is 3D printed, carefully soldered, and assembled into a smooth, minimal body that vaguely resembles its tropical namesake—if that toucan ditched the colors and got serious about sound design. It’s tuned to capture very high ultrasonic frequencies and delivers enhanced clarity you’ll hear right away.
The base features a sturdy 3/4-inch metal threaded hole for mounting to tripods or other gear, while its adjustable arm lets you aim the mic exactly where you need it. Lock it in place (or set it free) with the easy-to-use thumb screw knob—no tools, no stress, just twist and go.
At the front end of the mic, you’ll find a small indent made specifically for adding a windshield. It pairs perfectly with the Windbubble Pro from Bubblebee (available here) for professional-grade protection. Looking for a budget-friendly option? The windscreens from Ruittos on Amazon fit nicely too.
Whether you’re chasing wildlife sounds, experimenting with ultrasonic textures, or just want a mic that looks suspiciously birdlike, The Toucan is ready to perch on your setup and deliver the goods.
This is the first run of these microphones, there will only be 15 in stock as a trial run but will quickly be restocked soon after.
If one or more microphones are purchased, I will assume you want a matched pair and will do my best to provide that.
